Tash Restaurant. Ocean Trail Casino Arizona Cholla Steakhouse Supervisory Responsibilities. Manages the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager who supervises employees in the Food & Beverage Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. A Manager level leader is expected to actively support EC - Ms in their professional and academic goals through: - Program Awareness and Communication: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Pathways to Success programs. Ensure all EC - Ms are informed about relevant opportunities. - Mentorship and Coaching: Actively mentor EC - Ms, offering guidance on career pathways and facilitating connections to additional coaching resources as needed. - Resource Allocation: Allocate time and budget to support EC - Ms participation in developmental activities, such as courses, certifications, or conferences. - Development Planning: Collaborate with EC - Ms to create and regularly review individual development plans, setting measurable goals and tracking progress. - Barrier Removal: Identify and address obstacles that may hinder EC - Ms career growth, advocating for their needs within the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In this position, 20% of the time is spent on strategic planning with a focus on achieving goals set by executive management. 80% of the time is spent providing operational leadership, overseeing the day-to-day activities of the restaurant/outlet team to ensure that strategic goals are executed effectively. Leads and directs the restaurant front of house team, including all facets of the performance lifecycle: interviews, hires, trains, coaches, counsels, evaluates performance and recommends for termination. Evaluates talent for career development. Maintains no set position within the outlet but can perform all functions when needed. Monitors the guest experience, ensures smooth operations and high guest service and implements recovery plan if necessary. Interacts with guests for leadership table touches, inquires for guest satisfaction and utilizes guest recovery tactics. Trains and role models for the service team on upselling techniques. Coordinates with culinary restaurant leadership on smooth operations and proactively engages to prevent unmanageable restaurant volume. Coordinates with Chef de Cuisine and Restaurant Chef on menu development representing the guests' needs, preferences and restaurant brand. Responds to Medallia guest survey feedback and ensures that improvement plans are implemented when necessary. Creates and implements daily opening and closing procedures for the restaurant. Coordinates any/all pricing & menu changes on the POS system (Info. Genesis) so all items appear on the proper screens. Coordinates with IT on all menus or specials that appear on any casino video monitors. Helps with any advertising ideas to promote the restaurant (e.g. holiday menus, etc.). Approves all employee schedules for the restaurant and bars. Verifies validity of casino complimentary slips for the food and beverage check. Coordinates and facilitates customer service training for the department. Coordinates and facilitates training for personnel on safety and health standards, policies and procedures and follows up to ensure hazards are eliminated. Responsible for monthly inventory counts and extensions of china, glass, silverware for the restaurant. Oversees the daily cashier check out, reconciliation of the monies from the POS system (Info. Genesis). Matches daily recipes with monies taken in, documenting variances, if any. Ensures restaurant and employees meet both state and departmental requirements concerning sanitation and personal hygiene. Ensures that designated work areas, flatware, glasses, dinnerware and other used to serve customers are free from hazards (i.e. chips, breaks, cracks, liquid on floor, etc.). Plans and implements all operating plans and budgets for the restaurant. Maintains working knowledge of and execution of policies and procedures within multiple restaurants. Ensures that all hiring practices, employee disciplinary actions and employee expectations are in accordance with departmental and company policies. Maintains all staff records Kronos, Food Handlers cards, Alcohol Awareness training. Hires and trains Tribal Members consistent with the casinos Community and Indian Preference guidelines. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Credit Card Compliance requirements commonly known as PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance by attending training provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management. Signature verification of course attendance will be required. Responsible for the enforcement of PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance regulations to protect card holder data and adhere to the standards to protect the guests private card information. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting inappropriate card handling activity, of either customers or by employees, as defined by PCI. Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/ Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required; College degree in Hospitality Management preferred. 8 to 10 years related experience in the Food & Beverage industry required with, at least, 5 years in a management role. 2 years of management experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting required. Must have comprehensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and beverage programs, including wine pairing and service standards. Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws - Title 4 and/or Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations. Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handlers Card. Must possess Serve Safe certification. Computer Skills. Must have good PC skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, POS systems (Info. Genesis preferred), timekeeping/payroll systems (Kronos preferred) and inventory/purchasing systems (SWS preferred). Other Qualifications Must have strong communication, supervisory and organizational skills. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work harmoniously with co-workers and staff and instill the idea of being a team player. Must present a cheerful and friendly personality and always have a well-groomed appearance. Language Skills. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
