The Assistant Director, Project Development will be responsible for:Work closely and collaboratively with the department's leadership team to develop, track, monitor, and implement initiatives. Monitor internal and external key performance indicators, including project commitments, completions, project and program cost and performance, staffing levels, and other key performance indicators. Providing leadership support and guidance to department heads and staff and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Refine the department's vision, mission, goals, and long-term staffing plan. Coordinate with C&D human resources on short- and long-term staffing needs and strategy. Manage special projects for the Deputy Chief Development Officer from start to finish. Identifying areas for process improvement and developing strategies to address them while also resolving operational bottlenecks as they arise. Preparing analysis and reports for use by MTA leadership. Participate in meetings, providing guidance, making decisions, and advancing initiatives on behalf of the Deputy Chief Development Officer. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Urban Planning, Business, Public Policy, Construction Management, Finance/ Economics, or a related field Master’s degree in Transportation, Urban Planning, Business, Public Policy, Construction Management, Finance/ Economics, or a related field preferred Minimum 8 years of experience in Transportation, Construction, Infrastructure, Finance, Planning, or a related field Minimum 4 years of managerial experience Competencies:Passion for improving New York's public transit system. Familiarity with the MTA and the MTA Capital Program. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders across all levels of a large organization. Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for learning. Experience with project management and work plan development. Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, facilitation, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a high-profile, high-pressure environment effectively. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to complete short- and long-term projects effectively and efficiently. Demonstrated analytical capabilities and quantitative skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or comparable applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with the MTA's policies and procedures.
