Recreation Leaders serve as the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and responding to questions about the park, our programs, and the cultural resources we offer. They support the Facility Director in the overall management and operation of the center and its recreation and cultural programming. Recreation Leaders are considered essential staff and may supervise the facility in the absence of a full-time team member. Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and support daily programs and staff activities while creating a welcoming, space for our community. Provide outstanding customer service through in-person, phone, and digital communication, engaging respectfully with guests of varied languages and cultural backgrounds. Promote facility and City programs, develop brief marketing materials, and create activity schedules and attendance reports. Register patrons and collect fees following City policies. Supervise program check-in/out procedures and provide feedback on program goals. Maintain records using Excel, Word, Publisher, Rec. Trac, and general filing systems. Assist with program setup, breakdown, and light facility cleaning as needed.
Typical Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, and experience in customer service or a recreation setting. This position requires the ability to move throughout the facility and lift at least 30 lbs. Bilingual ability in Spanish and English is highly preferred, and candidates should be comfortable interacting cross-culturally with a diverse community of patrons. Experience with kids and teens is preferred.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Working Conditions: Subject to both environmental conditions as activities occur inside and outside which may require workers to wear eye protection, hard hat, protective clothing and hand protection.
