Job Description: Coordinates the staffing for inpatient nursing units. Enters and maintains unit schedules, maintains numerous nursing logs, payroll records and related demographic information. Collaborates with designated nursing unit personnel and supervisors to evaluate the staffing numbers and skill mix on every unit, every four hours. Determines appropriate personnel reassignments and communicates this plan with all parties involved. Indicates absence; records on daily work sheets and enters into time record system. Maintains paper file with critical contact information of all employees to ensure back-up for computer downtime. Ensures accurate data entry of patient acuity levels from all assigned units to provide key decision-making data. Maintains accurate records of float pool activity including voluntary overtime and component reassignments. Tracks patient companions and places according to needs. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
