Communities In School High School Site Coordinator GENERAL DUTIES: The site coordinator/teaching associate is responsible for the day to day supervision and management of the school site. CISCC site coordinator will assist the CISCC students, work closely with the school staff, community agencies, volunteers, parents/families, Caldwell County Department of Social Services social workers and represents Caldwell County School system which assigned this person to the CISCC project. The site coordinator/teaching associate is responsible for achieving the project's stated goals and objectives. Required education, training, and experience Must meet Paraprofessional Requirements: Two-year degree or 48 college semester hours. Associate degree and Teaching experience preferred. Licensed and insured NC driver (proof required) Strong interpersonal and communication skills, counseling skills, and a desire to work with at-risk youth. Strong organizational skills required. The ability to work as a team player. Must be willing to believe in and make a commitment to the program and the youth you serve. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Supervise and coordinate CISCC program at assigned site to include semi-monthly one-on-one contact with upperclassmen / unseated students or more often as necessary to provide services for the student. Attend or be a part of the school improvement team meetings. Teach and prepare lesson plans for CISCC 9th grade class, using the CISCC provided a curriculum. Maintain Planbook and classroom archives. Must have adequate computer skills and an understanding of Google Apps. Assist classroom teachers of CISCC students- all classroom assignments must be completed before the end of the grading period, there is a no "fail" policy in CISCC. Attendance, tardiness, course work, and behavior are monitored and reported to the social worker when a problem first begins. Work closely with all members of the CISCC team (Executive Director and Social Worker) to coordinate and integrate the delivery of services for the CISCC student. Team meetings are mandatory. Recruit volunteers; from the community, coordinate and supervise their activities with students. Have quarterly volunteer/mentor meetings to check progress, needs, and concerns. Guest speakers and field trips are to be set up and coordinated through the CISCC office. Coordinate field trip permission, bus, and driver. Plan and implement special events for CISCC students. Coordinate and supervise community service projects approved by the CISCC office. Attend online weekly Site Coordinators' meetings and other meetings called by the executive director. Coordinate semi-monthly team meetings as needed. Use the school team and the weekly student support services team. Supervise attendance, behavior, and academic progress of all students in CISCC and report to CISCC team promptly on the plan of action. Student records must be maintained with complete documentation and updated monthly. Maintain a working relationship with students' academic teachers, CISCC social workers, the executive director, the program coordinator, and the administrative assistant. Assist the guidance department and students with registration and scheduling. Complete quarterly activity reports, grading reports, semester, and end-of-year reports to the executive director (with a copy to the principal) detailing all activities and accomplishments for that reporting period. Oversee student referral and selection process (the selection process must be completed before the last day of school.) Make it your class! Responsible for all correspondence with the CISCC office, social workers, school personnel, tutors/mentors, and parents. (i.e. general mailings, information concerning scheduled events or activities, etc.) Establish professional relationships with parents/guardians. Make home visits, when necessary. This is to be done only when accompanied by the CISCC social worker. Tutor/mentor/counsel students individually and/or connect to school-based programs Track the progress of upperclassmen/maintain CISCC relationships. Be responsible and accountable for the site budget. Secure a PO/requisition and approval from the office before any items are purchased for your program. Submit all documentation to the Executive Director no later than two business days after a purchase has been made. Participate in school activities including faculty meetings, staff meetings, and extracurricular events. Collaborate with school personnel to integrate social and educational services. Keep faculty and staff educated about CISCC's mission.Network with school staff to create/maintain a positive image for CISCC. Responsible for presentations to faculty at assigned school. Promote cooperation between faculty, school administration, and CISCC team whenever possible. Perform other duties assigned by the principal as necessary for the successful operation of the CISCC project. Maintain a clean healthy environment. Maintain accurate student records.
