WWGST Logistics Development Manager who is responsible for business development and partnerships, both with our internal stakeholders & external customers. This Supply Chain Management role will support the Inbound Perishable Logistics Team with the handling of the inbound freight needs of perishables products to all PDC US distribution centers, consolidation centers, seafood facilities, external customers, and processors, along with a variety of other freight needs for perishable WWGST - Key job responsibilities. Actively support the Manager of Supply Chain Logistics in uniting all teams within the WWGST Perishable Sourcing Team with a common vision to serve WWGS perishable logistics needs. Consistently demonstrate the highest quality customer service to Amazons perishable PDC regions and customers. Communicate, represent and uphold Amazons core values and business philosophy to Team members and vendors/supply partners. Provide guidance and strategic insight into the decisions being made by the Perishable Sourcing teams. Plans, organizes, directs and controls activities related to the Logistics functions. Designs, implements, manages and monitors logistics reporting systems to meet company requirements. Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a competitive price. while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct. Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price and acceptability of items to specifications. Engage key regional operatives providing insight to transportation management issues and initiatives. Support expansion of Perishable Transportation Abilities. Lead Improvements in the transportation/logistics function through technology implementation, process development. Service enhancements, cost reduction strategies. Serve as a system Subject Matter Expert for all relevant transportation systems. Use transportation modeling to analyze and complete modeling requests which supports the identification of gaps between current business operations and the TMS tool capabilities. Execute Bi/ Tri Annual Bid Implementation (Request for Proposal) as needed. Attend and participate in Perishable stakeholder meetings and inter-team meetings. Participate in developing the Perishable purchasing office into a state of the art service operation that creates the best perishables program possible at Amazon perishable sourcing. Perform inbound forecasting tasks, particularly for holiday seasons. Monitor our rapidly changing supply chain and contribute input to create efficiencies. Assist and contribute towards improving over the road transportation management. Keep detailed records, generate reports and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspectiveSupport Executive Leaders in communicating truck planning issues and interpreting, preparing and publishing weekly and ad hoc reports. Ensure accurate completion and timely submission of all personnel paperwork when needed. Build relationships within the company and suppliers. A day in the life. Have the ability to choose the most effective routes for transportation, the most competent delivery method and use a collaborative approach with Amazon Engineering resources to proficiently handle related processes. Flexible schedule - willing to work early mornings & take occasional late night calls -some weekends. Looking for someone who has perishable grocery Experience managing logistics activities across multiple geographies, (US/ Canada/ Mexico). Understanding of various supply chain technologies, processes and standards including Web Portals, TMS/ WMS, Scorecards, Vendor Compliance, Business Intelligence etc. Experience with Transportation Management Software, must be proficient with development of reporting and PFRAQ document creation. Basic Qualifications- 5 years of program or project management experience- 5 years of supply chain experience- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership. Preferred Qualifications- 2 years of driving process improvements experience- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field.
