Certified Screener Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Ctr Department Name: Emergency Screening Req : 0000254058 Status: Hourly Shift: Night Pay Range: $30.00 - $36.82 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate s educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Psychiatric Certified Screener provides care in the acute care setting within the scope of practice defined by the Screening Law and other regulatory standards. Qualifications: Required: MSW/ MA degree in related field, or BA/ BS plus three years of prior experience in a psychiatric setting, one of which is in crisis setting or enrolled in a Master s program with two years of prior experience in a psychiatric setting, one of which is in a crisis setting Must have the ability to work in stressful situations Must possess a valid NJ driver s license in good standin Scheduling Requirements Full Time Night Shift Rotating weekend and holiday shift requirements Essential Functions: Assures safety in practice by maintaining a realization of their own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge by communicating with and utilizing resource persons/programs available The Psychiatric Screener individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient s needs Works in harmony with other staff members of interdisciplinary team Assists the Patient Care Manager and others as needed to achieve best service possible to patients Responsible for supervising and assisting in patient care issues as well as follow up on assigned tasks and for consistently setting and evaluating priorities Participates in psychiatric mobile outreach in the community with law enforcement Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
