The Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) is seeking a highly efficient, motivated person to provide direct support to the Deputy Warden. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong time management skills, excellent oral and written communication, an ability to track and execute multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. DUTIES: - Conduct research, review and prepare reports on internal and external matters. - Prepare correspondence for signature. - Assist with programs: providing direct supervision during various programs; coordinate with volunteers and program staff to schedule classes and spaces; program specific class preparation, registration, and tracking. - Preparation of the Deputy Warden’s monthly report. - Process statements of charges. - Assist with incarcerated individual incentive program as needed. - Inmate calling system processes. - Represent the facility on agency committees. - Conduct facility tours. Requirements/ Qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in public or business administration, accounting, or any discipline related to the work assigned. One year of experience in administrative, business management or technical support work including collecting and interpreting statistical, financial, program, or administrative data; or interpreting laws, rules, regulations, and processes. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum two years of experience in a correctional environment. Other: Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
