Schedules all surgeries requested by physicians and physician offices. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Schedules surgical procedures through physician offices and inter-hospital departments such as: radiology, oncology, central scheduling. Accurate data entry of patient information, surgical procedure, special needs: such as equipment and implants Daily review of schedule for accuracy and updates and adjusts accordingly Entering physician block schedules and building the surgery schedule in EPIC Efficient scheduling for block utilization Work closely with supply chain to notify them of special needs for case Schedule cases with knowledge of limited supply list to prevent conflicts Active participant in monthly surgery scheduling meetings Accuracy in assigning ICD 10 codes to diagnosis May need to travel to physician offices to assist with meeting scheduling expectation/needs Runs reports as needed Performs other related duties as assigned Will be cross trained in the Surgical Department Health Unit Coordinator role and provide coverage, as needed.
