George Fox University's Event Services Team is looking for Classroom Assistants to support and work alongside faculty members who are teaching a Pre-College Summer Institute academic track. About the Job: Classroom Assistants work alongside faculty members teaching a Pre-College Summer Institute academic track. They support classroom instruction, assist with daily preparations, mentor students, and help create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment. This is a short-term summer employment opportunity. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Guiding students through classroom initiatives and learning activities. Assisting faculty members with daily classroom preparation and support. Creating and maintaining a fun, safe, and engaging classroom environment. Engaging with and mentoring students throughout the program. Participating in required training prior to the start of the program. Assisting with additional tasks and special projects as assigned. Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrated experience working cross-culturally with respect, appreciation and humility. Other duties as assigned. We're looking for candidates who have: The ability to successfully pass a background check required for working with and staying in residence halls with minors. A teachable spirit and positive attitude. The ability to take initiative and work independently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and adaptability while managing multiple responsibilities. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Job information: Hours Per Week: Up to 40 hours per week Primary Work Location: Newberg Campus Working Conditions: Work is performed in classroom, residence hall, and program environments.
