Gameday Digital Media Intern. Position Overview. The Des Moines Buccaneers are seeking a creative and energetic Gameday Digital Media Intern to assist with content creation during home games throughout the season. This position will play a key role in capturing engaging photo and video content from around the arena, helping bring the Buccaneers game day experience to life across social media platforms. Responsibilities - Capture photo and video content during Buccaneers home games, including:o On-ice actiono Fan experienceso In-game promotions and entertainmento Sponsor activationso Theme nights and special eventso Behind-the-scenes moments - Identify and capture social-first content opportunities in real time. - Work alongside the Digital Media Coordinator to execute game day content plans. - Assist with gathering content for Instagram Stories, Reels, TikTok, X, Facebook, and other digital platforms. - Help ensure key game moments, fan interactions, and promotional activities are documented. - Organize and upload content following games as needed. - Contribute creative ideas for game day content and fan engagement. Qualifications - Currently enrolled in a college or university program majoring in sports media, communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field. - Strong interest in sports, social media, and content creation. - Ability to work all Des Moines Buccaneers home games, including nights, weekends, and holidays. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live event environment. - Strong communication skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently while taking initiative to identify content opportunities. - Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate as part of a team. Preferred Skills - Basic knowledge of social media trends and short-form content. - Experience with sports content production. - Knowledge of hockey is not required, but is a plus. - Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar editing software.
