What you will do for Harris County Precinct 4 (HCP 4)Harris County Precinct 4 is looking for a bilingual Administrative Assistant to support the team at Tracy Gee Community Center. As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Community Center Manager and Assistant Manager to help organize programs, schedule events, and provide resources that enrich the lives of our participants. With heart, you’ll help foster a safe, friendly, and supportive environment. With hustle, you’ll juggle multiple projects, assist in developing programs, and ensure the center runs smoothly each day. And with higher standards, you’ll help us deliver services that truly make a difference in the lives of Harris County residents. Job Duties and Responsibilities:The following duties are illustrative of the types of work performed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:Provide administrative and clerical support, including answering phones, maintaining files, and preparing correspondence and reports. Assist in scheduling the use of community center facilities and coordinate logistics for programs, classes, and events. Support the development and delivery of recreational, educational, and community programs; lead classes as assigned. Maintain accurate program and participant records. Assist in developing promotional materials and communicating available programs to the public. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, staff, and community partners. Support daily facility operations, including room setup, event preparation, and maintaining cleanliness when facilities staff are unavailable. Participate in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery operations. Represent Precinct 4 with professionalism at all times, including assisting constituents and reinforcing community center rules as necessary. Experience:Minimum of one (1) year of customer service or clerical experience. Valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Bilingual proficiency (Mandarin or Spanish) preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational and time-management abilities, including multitasking and meeting deadlines. Ability to operate basic office equipment. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Creative, proactive, and innovative problem-solving abilities. Two (2) or more years of customer service or clerical experience. Experience leading classes or group activities. May be required to work evenings and/or weekends to ensure staff coverage during the Center’s operating hours.
