Required Certification, Licensure/ Other Credentials Driver’s license required. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma and 10 years professional experience in a specialized trades area; or in diversified building or vehicle maintenance, or construction activity. Supervisory experience must be in an energy related field or business. Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities Thorough knowledge of application and practices for large central steam and chilled water distribution systems, and HVAC mechanical systems. Working knowledge of high voltage systems and equipment, working knowledge of direct digital control (DDC) energy management systems. Must have the ability to write and interpret complex technical plans and reports; to communicate verbally and in writing and communicate effectively with management and other professionals. Coordinates crews and contractors in the accomplishment of energy and infrastructure work on the Columbia campus. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments and job hazard analyses. Leading required safety training (e.g., electrical safety, arc flash, lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, trenching and excavation); performing field audits and inspections. Investigating incidents and near misses; maintaining safety documentation and reporting metrics; Coordinating corrective actions.
