Semi Truck Driver - Fleet Operator

Transport ECHO products between inter-company warehouse locations Haul generators and related equipment using flatbed trailers Pick up and unload plastic pellet loads utilizing tri-vessel tanker trailers and onboard PTO blower systems Perform local pickups and deliveries throughout the Chicagoland area and Southern Wisconsin Complete occasional overnight routes as business needs require Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections Maintain accurate electronic driver logs and transportation records Operate 10-speed manual transmission semi-tractors safely and efficiently Secure and strap flatbed trailer loads safely and properly Back 53' dry-van trailers into loading docks and tight locations Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when needed Follow daily schedules, instructions, and delivery timelines with minimal supervision Comply with all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies Assist with other fleet or facility-related duties as assigned Qualifications: Active CDL Class A license with current medical card and state-approved physical required Minimum 7 years of CDL Class A driving experience required Clean driving record required Experience with flatbed hauling and/or pneumatic vessel hauling preferred Experience securing and strapping flatbed loads preferred Experience backing 53' dry-van trailers into tight loading docks and locations required Ability to maintain electronic logbooks Forklift experience (sit-down and/or stand-up) Heavy equipment experience such as skid steer, mini excavator, or plow equipment is a plus Familiarity with Chicagoland, Northwest Suburbs, and Southern Wisconsin routes preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Bilingual Spanish is a plus Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical ability to perform essential job functions, including frequent lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit and operate a commercial vehicle for extended periods of time. Ability to safely enter and exit semi-tractors, trailers, tankers, and loading docks multiple times throughout the shift. Ability to secure loads using straps, chains, and tie-down equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and overall physical mobility to safely operate commercial motor vehicles and heavy equipment. Work Schedule and Environment: Primarily Monday through Friday schedule Must be flexible to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed Occasional overnight travel may be required Combination of driving, warehouse, yard, and outdoor work environments Exposure to varying weather conditions while performing deliveries and equipment inspections
