In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position. Set up, operate, and tend to many machines organized into a frame that twist yarn together. Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate. Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into twister Reposition buggies of yarn at the twisters and stage tubes for winder operation Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle, and repair breakouts during production runs Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements Perform quality checks using black lights to check yarn Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary Perform other tasks assigned by management Years of Experience and Knowledge: Knowledge, Experience, Certifications: Describe the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent basis. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Successful completion of all required on the job training Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience is preferred Competencies: Describe the specific skills required for this position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills and unique abilities.
