Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 8-10 years plant/warehouse general maintenance experience, including eletrical and mechanical repair and trouble-shooting. Has the ability to make quick, reliable decisions that represent both the customer and Ryder. Good organizational, communication, and planning skills. Vocational or Technical Certification preferred. Experience operating forklift equipment required. Equipment certification may be required Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned. Responsibilities Performs maintenance and trouble-shooting functions on all warehousing equipment in an independent and effective manner. Maintains and trouble-shoots plant utility systems including fire protection, water, electrical, air, and vacuum as applicable. Understands shop maintenance, parts inventory, parts ordering, and plant reporting systems. Performs routine forklift repairs. Maintains batteries and related equipment. Perfoms routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and maintains records of repairs. If required, provides training, including aspects of safety, quality, sanitation, and efficiency of packaging/warehouse equipment, for operations associates. Additional duties as assigned, overtime as needed.
