The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. Education :Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing within 18 Months of Program Start Date - Required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred. Additional Experience Requirements:Less than 6 months experience as an RN in an acute care setting. Preferred candidates will have a Sr. Preceptor with a minimum of 100 hours. Certifications/ Licensures:RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing – Required. BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association – Required. Additional Unit Specific certifications may be required at the end of training:ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - For units that require ACLS - must complete during the first 6 months of the training program – Required. PALS - American Heart Association - For units that require PALS - must complete during the first 6 months of the training program – Required. NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics - For units that require NRP - must complete during the first 6 months of the training program – Required. Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test – For units that require rhythm recognition competency- Must Pass test upon completion of the first 6 months of the training program- Required. NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency - Competency - Successful completion on an annual basis – For units that require NIHSS - must complete during the first 6 months of the training program - Required. When completing your online application, please make sure to include the following: - A cover letter that includes your Nursing School GPA and which unit you would be interested in working within. - A resume including your completed clinical rotations and highlighting your Senior Preceptor, which units, and how many hours. - A signed letter of recommendation from your Preceptor and Clinical Instructor. - Please upload all of these documents while completing the application. Program will begin on August 24th. Openings may include the following Clinical areas:Med/ Surg. Progressive Care/ Step. Down. Operating Room. Labor and Delivery. Neonatal ICU - Behavioral Health. We will start reaching out to potential candidates as soon as May 18th, but potential candidates will be contacted over the course of several weeks. Interviews will be in person throughout the month of June and early July. Interviews will be onsite at both our Walnut Creek and Concord Locations.
